Patio Season

Last night was the first night to Party on the Patio! Of course it was rainy and today it's freezing, haha. So I'm talking about outdoor bars. A local favorite scene of mine is the West End bar (formerly On The Rocks), they have a patio and bar on the roof, and it's a great place to spend the summer nights drinking and talking with friends. I'll be glad when it warms up again and we can get back to having a good time! Looks like we'll have to put up with the indoor bars for another weekend, it's weird how cold it is for this time of year. I think I might have a few more entries on the venues of Dickson Street, it's a great place to be make friends and have a blast.

Battlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is a FPS game slated to come out Q4 of 2011. The new graphics engine, Frostbite 2.0, that it's built on looks amazing. This will be an obvious upgrade to the high def graphics, game physics, rendering, and lighting currently on the market. It is releasing on PC, Xbox360, and PS3. I'm up in there air on where I'll go for the 360 or PC version. Probably 360 since I'd need to upgrade my graphics card for the computer. Anyways you can see for yourself below (actual pre-alpha game play footage!) Watch the trailer here, BF3, Bad Part of Town

Music

I put some music on :)

Most of these are older and are my favorites. E.T. is my new drug!

Moving Next Month

It's amazing how much junk can get piled up in 2 years. The lease on my house is up in May and I'll be finding somewhere else to stay. The house is nice, but honestly it's just too damn expensive, I'd be fine living in somewhere much cheaper and it makes sense that I should try to do so. Looking for a new residence is pretty exciting, I'm enjoying the feeling of uncertainty, but I'll probably get more nervous about it over the next few weeks haha.

So I won't miss the house much, but it also means I'll be breaking up with my buddy Jay. We've been roomies for 3 years, and he honestly is one of my best friends. He can be a little a weird, but then again I'm weird. We have fun just sitting around joking and watching movies. It's gonna be weird having a new roommate in a few months. On that note, I have no idea who that might be, so another thing to be anxious about, but I guess we'll just see happens. I just kinda feel like winging it, and what happens happens. I've got an apartment scoped out and will apply as soon as I can maybe snag a roommate.

Packing my things up will be a bitch and I have no idea where I'll put it all in the process of moving. I acquired most of my furniture on the stipulation that I never bring it back haha.

Sphere by Michael Crichton

I just finished reading this one last weekend, I read it 5-6 years ago when I was a huge bookworm before school, computers, music, and athletics dominated my daily agenda. I had forgotten most of it and enjoyed reading it again while trying to return to my bookwormish roots.

Sphere is a suspense filled story about a strange space craft being found on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The U.S. Navy sends down a civilian panel of experts to investigate the craft and search for signs of the craft's origins and a possible link to extraterrestrials. On board the ship, the group finds a strange sphere that is most certainly alien. The investigation leads to strange phenomenon happening at the bottom of the ocean and the team must figure out what is happening before they are possibly destroyed. I'd recommend this book to any suspense, sci-fi, or tech junkie.

Michael Crichton is one of my favorite authors, and it's terrible that he has already passed. I wish he could have written for many more years, because every book of his that I read I struggle to put down without completing it.

Favorite Drinks

1. Sailor Jerry spiced rum
2.Crown Royal
3. Jagermeister
4. Greygoose vodka
5. Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey
6. Jameson irish whiskey
Last: any kind of tequila.

I don't know why, but my friends always want to do the tequila shots with the salt and lime. Tequila gives me the worst hangovers haha. Mix rum and whiskey with Coke. Jager and vodka is good with Redbull.

How young is too young?

I've been texting and talking to this girl that is 18 years old... I'm 22... Is that wrong? Sometimes I think I'm an idiot hahaha. Maybe I'm wasting my time, but I'm not doing anything wrong by talking to her. I text with a few of my friends that are girls, but it's usually just a friendly hello, what are your plans tonight, ok I might see you out later. She actually gave me her number and texts me all the time. I'm not even really sure where she stands or what she wants. I'm just being friendly and letting her work things out as she wants. I think she's just lonely from a recent break-up, I know how that goes. I have sympathy for her, she's a sweet girl who deserves to be treated right. She's young though and I don't know her well enough to judge her intentions or emotions,  I'm just going with the flow. I really don't have any romantic interests right now, so why not talk to her? I try not to initiate conversation too much simply because I don't want to be the older dude, blowing up a girl's phone. She's funny though and honestly I enjoy chatting with her. Still, every once in awhile I get a feeling that I'm being a fool, maybe we both are. It's a day for fools anyway haha.

Threat Level Midnight

Threat Level Midnight gets a D- by this movie critic. Michael Scarn shines as a true lead role should in a spy thriller. The surrounding cast falls short however for Michael Scott's writing, directing, producing debut.

Really I just wanted to profess my love for the Office, I've got every season on DVD, and am thoroughly enjoying this season's performances as Michael Scott(Steve Carrel) prepares to depart. I have been an avid fan of the show for several years. I love the entire cast and think the show has had a wildly successful run in today's environment of reality TV and short-lived series. I certainly think that the cast is strong enough for the Office to continue after Carrel's departure. Will Ferrel also looks to have a refreshing role as Scott's replacement. Hopefully Ferrel will remain to do several more shows. If the show does end after this season, then I'll say it certainly went out with a bang and will always be remembered fondly as a great series by me.
